SeenDis Bio:
SeenDis — short for “Have you seen this?” — is an original product conceived and built in-house at Slam Dunk Digital. Born from a simple everyday frustration, that watchlists are scattered across notes, streaming apps, and memory, SeenDis brings film and television tracking, discovery, and play together in one refined progressive web app.
More than a personal tool, SeenDis is a fully realised product with real users, public guest access, and a dedicated admin dashboard. It reflects Slam Dunk Digital’s belief that the same craft applied to premium client work can be turned inward to create polished, user-first products of our own.
Brief
The goal was to build a film and TV companion that felt as considered and enjoyable to use as the content it helps people track. Existing watchlist tools are often clunky, fragmented, or locked behind sign-up walls, offering little beyond a static list. SeenDis needed to do more: to help users discover what to watch next, keep meticulous track of their progress, and make the whole experience feel fast, modern, and genuinely fun.
Beyond the core watchlist, the product needed a discovery engine, granular episode tracking for television, and an interactive quiz to drive repeat engagement, all wrapped in a performant, installable app that works seamlessly across desktop and mobile.
The brief was to:
- Build a fast, installable progressive web app that works flawlessly on desktop and mobile.
- Create an intuitive watchlist covering both films and TV, with a clear “To Watch” and “Watched” structure.
- Integrate a discovery experience so users can find and add new titles with ease.
- Add episode-level tracking for TV series, including season progress and automatic status updates.
- Design an engaging quiz feature to encourage repeat visits and social sharing.
- Offer public guest access to key areas, lowering the barrier to first use.

Project Executions
We approached SeenDis with a product-first mindset, pairing a clean, distinctive interface with a robust, modern technical foundation built to scale.
Key executions included:
- A React/Vite front end and Node/Express back end, backed by a PostgreSQL database and deployed via a streamlined CI/CD pipeline for rapid, reliable releases.
- Integration with the TMDb API to power rich, accurate film and television data across discovery and detail pages.
- A full episode-tracking system for TV series, with lazy-loaded seasons and episodes, a live progress bar, and automatic status logic.
- An interactive quiz featuring tiered difficulty levels, a scoring and verdict system, and celebratory moments that reward high scores.
- Public guest access to Discover, title detail pages, and the About section, alongside a full member experience.
- A custom-built admin dashboard giving oversight of users and activity, with careful, safeguarded controls.
